Dualer Consulting e.V. was founded in 2017 by bachelor students of DHBW Ravensburg and is thus Germany’s first dual student consulting organization. Through its large network with over 1,200 partner companies, Dualer Consulting e.V. has successfully carried out consulting projects in various industries.

The Background of the Case Study
For the education and training of members and interested parties of Dualer Consulting e.V., a case study event was piloted for the first time in 2020. The student consulting organization was able to secure digatus and SAP as sponsors for the event, who also selected the winning team in a multi-stage process. Each team worked on two cases consecutively, with the second one to be presented in a final presentation. The students had two weeks per case for creative problem-solving. In addition to a selected team from Dualer Consulting e.V., digatus and SAP formed the jury. Due to contact restrictions from Covid-19, the entire case study took place in virtual teams.

The Students’ Work on the Case Studies
The first case was provided by Dualer Consulting e.V. and involved developing a concept for the cooperation of an IT startup with a mobility provider, including market research and financial planning.
For the second case, the students were divided, as one case example was provided by SAP and one by digatus. Our goal was to task the students with a current and practical challenge. Therefore, we decided on developing a sales strategy for new customer acquisition in the consulting business and creating a market report to increase visibility in the M market.
On September 27, after a total of four weeks of intensive problem-solving, the case study participants had the opportunity to present their results to the jury. The virtual presentation of the results was conducted professionally and impressed us.
