MOVE FOR KIDS – joint fundraising campaign with VITAGO for the Kinderhaus AtemReich

On July 4th, VITAGO called for another campaign for a good cause and we were of course back in the game. Under the motto "Move for Kids", this time it was about moving and collecting donations for the Kinderhaus AtemReich.
What were donations collected for?

The Kinderhaus AtemReich is home to 18 children in need of intensive care, ventilated or at risk of ventilation. Before being admitted to the Kinderhaus, they were in permanent care in intensive care units of children’s hospitals. As they continue to rely on medical and nursing care as well as support and therapies, they often cannot be optimally cared for at home. At AtemReich, they are cared for according to their individual needs until they reach school age. The goal is to create a familiar home for the children where parents and siblings can also find a home.

The donations were collected to enable the children to visit Moni’s kleiner Farm, a center for animal-assisted pedagogy, therapies and support measures. Apart from the well-known dolphin therapy, domestic and farm animals are also often used successfully for therapeutic purposes, as here on the farm. During visits to Moni’s little farm, the children experience unconditional acceptance by the animals, they experience basic direct and sensual communication, as well as joy and quality of life through encounters.

A lot of running and cycling was done for the Move for Kids fundraising campaign

How could you participate in the fundraising campaign?

After we cleared our local paths of garbage as part of our last joint campaign, this time the focus was even more on movement. As a sponsor, digatus donates 1 euro for every kilometer that the digatus team walked or jogged on July 4th and there are 0.50 euros for the kilometers cycled.

Despite the sometimes bad weather, many people participated in the fundraising campaign and so almost all types of movement were included:

  • A walk with the family through the Augsburg Zoo
  • A walk around the Regattaparksee
  • A walk through Germering
  • A hiking tour in the mountains
  • A game on the tennis court
  • A soccer game
  • Board member Stephan Bals and Feelgood & Health Manager Johannes Oberhofer were jogging around Moosburg
  • A bike tour through Munich in the rain
  • A father-son bike tour
  • An excursion with the daughter on the balance bike to the ice cream parlor
  • A bike tour with friends & as a training comparison
  • A bike tour to the high Peissenberg

Thank you to everyone who participated so diligently in the fundraising campaign! Thanks to you, 82 kilometers were run and 260 kilometers were cycled, which corresponds to a sum of 212 euros. We will round up the result a bit so that we can hand over a total donation of 250 euros to the Kinderhaus AtemReich. We wish the children an unforgettable time on Moni’s little farm!
